NEMETH ELECTED TO UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN ALUMNAE COUNCIL AND RECEIVES CLARKSTON CHAMBER PRESIDENT'S AWARD

2020 is ending on a high note for Clarkston-based Nemeth Marketing as its owner Julie Nemeth has received two distinguished honors.  Nemeth recently was elected to a three-year term to the University of Michigan Alumnae Council (UMAC) as a member-at-large and will serve as the organization's marketing committee chairperson.

UMAC is an affiliate organization of the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan and works towards the equitable inclusion of women in all facets of the University of Michigan community.  Some of its initiatives include recruitment, scholarships, programming, cooperative housing, and historical and current support of the Michigan Union.

In addition, Nemeth also received the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce’s President’s Award, which is the highest honor given by the Chamber by its outgoing president.  Carrie Wheeler of McLaren Oakland announced Nemeth as her awardee saying, “Julie Nemeth has a superior commitment and dedication to the Chamber and is a staple of the Clarkston community.  She is involved in many non-profits and is passionate about giving back to members of our community in need.”

In Clarkston, Nemeth serves on the Clarkson Chamber’s Board of Directors and holds the volunteer positions of outreach chairperson at her congregation St Trinity Lutheran Church and as a steering committee member of My Habitat Clarkston.

Nemeth Marketing, Inc. Honored for New Grassroots Branding for Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County

The Nemeth Marketing staff has been honored for their pro bono work with Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County (Habitat Oakland County). For the past three years, the staff has provided pro bono marketing and public relations strategies to a Habitat Oakland County grassroots pilot brand called My Habitat Clarkston, which moves the Habitat brand from a build-only positioning to include a year-round, grassroots service initiative in the Clarkston/Davisburg (Mich.) market. Honors received to date include:

  • Detroit Pistons’ Community Game Changer Award
  • Clarkston Community Awards Business Person of the Year
  • Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce Rock Star

To-date, the new brand’s steering committee raised $130,000 for a new Habitat home build in a 10-month time frame, recruited 1,100 volunteers to serve during new, twice-yearly Community Impact Weekends and critical home repair projects, managed a new Habitat in the Park awareness event and is preparing to launch a 2015 home refurbishment.

“Corporate volunteers and partners like Nemeth Marketing, Inc. are what make our Habitat for Humanity of Oakland County’s mission successful,” says Tim Ruggles, Habitat Oakland County‘s Chief Executive Officer. “Without dedicated volunteers from all walks of our communities, we would not be able to provide affordable housing or critical home repairs. We are so grateful for the pro bono efforts of Julie and her team and making this new brand happen!”

Adds Julie Nemeth, Nemeth Marketing President, “Our corporate culture is focused on returning goodness to the communities we serve. It’s been an honor to create a new brand that broadens Habitat service projects for the entire family at a community grassroots level while supporting the mission of Habitat Oakland County. We are so excited to be able to share this template with other communities.”
